The Original Recipe for Ice ScrambleSeptember 21, 2011
One of the many street food i’ve ate that i won’t forget is the Ice Scramble. I can still remember way back in grade school, you can see me and my buddies holding a tall plastic cup filled with our favorite ice scramble after our morning class. I guess it’s safe to say that, “Hindi kumpleto ang pagkabata mo pag hindi natikman ang Ice Scramble”.
I’ve tried to reconstruct the recipe but pardon me if I have some mistakes on some details. You can adjust it so it will fit your taste buds, besides you can’t get poisoned with this right?
- 1 cup Evaporated Milk
- 3 tablespoons Brown sugar (wash)
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 cups crushed ice
- 1 teaspoon Food Coloring
1 tablespoon Vanilla Flavoring
- Skimmed Milk (It’s the powdered milk on top of ice scramble, it’s not your Nido or Bear Brand)
- Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup
1.) Pour crushed ice in a mixing bowl (if you want to do it manually, but i prefer this way so that the ice won’t easily melt) or if you’re too lazy put it in blender.
2.) Mix Evaporated Milk, Vanilla Flavoring (you can buy this in your nearby dirty palengke or talipapa, i haven’t tried looking this in malls or grocery stores), Food Coloring (any color you want. I’ve already tried Red Ice Scramble!) and water with your crushed ice.
3.) Mix it well.
4.) You’re done! You can top it with skimmed milk, chocolate syrup and sago! Enjoy!
